I got a job. My dream job, to be specific. I literally could not have asked for a better job just coming out of college. This job is exactly what I’ve been dreaming of for my first real official “job” since I started interning. I’ll actually be starting really soon, probably at some point this week, while I’m still in school, taking 20 credit hours. I’m going to be crazy busy, but it’s totally worth it.

I’ll be an assistant in the A&R department at Atlantic Records. I’ll get to scout bands, and potentially sign artists, while also working for three really talented A&R legends. I’ll be working with a long list of artists, including Death Cab for Cutie, Jason Mraz, Carolina Liar, Bloc Party, Lykke Li, Matt Hires, O.A.R. and that’s just part of the rosters of the three guy’s I’ll be directly working for…

I cannot begin to explain how fucking stoked I am. But it is because I really value this job more than anything that I’m going to stop talking about work pretty much completely on my Tumblr. I just don’t want to mix work with personal stuff, even though the music industry inherently does mix the two… I just want to keep the two as separate as possible for the sake of my sanity and my work. I just want to keep some level of privacy to my career and whatever projects I get involved in. It’s for the best.

I’m going in tomorrow to sign the contract. Wish me luck!
